As Vice President of Advanced Technology @ Motorola/Google/Arris, Ajay Luthra led the development of emerging disruptive technologies. With over 50 patents in digital video and signal processing, he has been awarded Motorola's Patent of the Year award, Distinguished Innovator award and was named an Engineering Fellow.

In addition to having been the US Head of Delegations to MPEG, he co-chaired the Joint Video Team (JVT) which created the H.264/AVC video coding standard. For this he was recognized by a Prime Time Emmy Engineering Award. He was also actively involved in developing the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard. Ajay is currently working on the Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard.
